Introducing: How We Show Up
The dream of Third Space began with friends at a table outside a local coffee shop. We had been working together for years and would soon be onto new endeavors and we were mourning the camaraderie, the beautiful community we had built together. Until one of us said, what if it didn’t have to end? And here we are, two years later, with you.
We don’t have to tell you a lot has changed in the last few years. Our heart has been going out again and again as we’ve seen the ways history keeps roaring back with violence. But although hope hasn’t always been easy to find, we always had you all.
On February 19th, we gratefully welcomed back Miriam Brabham, poet extraordinaire and now Green Bay Poet Laureate, who was the center of our very first event back in May 2024. The evening was beautiful, and not just because of the grace she held as she performed, but also because the joy in the room was tangible. Being in a room with you all, eating Nothing Bundt Cakes and blowing out candles, celebrating not just Third Space’s birthday, but the community you all created.
Over the last two years, we’ve heard the stories of how you show up for each other: to do remote work together, to dogsit, to go to children’s birthdays, to go on walks. And it’s in these small every day moments of connection that hope lives. So feed that hope, friends, and keep showing up.
You all built something beautiful and we’re so grateful to be a part of it.
