Finding the Magic in Your Life

Still dreaming of Misty’s garden, photo taken August 2025.

We blinked and somehow it’s May! The birds are out and about singing for all the world to hear and not a moment too soon!

It’s not that it’s warm yet (can you believe we had a frost advisory not too long ago?) but it is true that sunshine has begun to peek out of the cold. And that means it’s a good time to look for magic in your life.

Magic and wonder can be simple to find. Step outside and listen to a bird call. Follow your feet to the nearest tree and feel its bark under your fingers. Set aside one hour to wander in a new place with no destination in mind–just explore. When was the last time you snuck outside at night to get a sip of moon joy while looking up at the night sky?

In order to keep walking in this long amble through life, we must find ways to pocket joy for later to pull out and enjoy when the terrain below our feet gets rough. Despair or numbness won’t be able to sustain us long term. We need magic to fill our cup, wonder to keep our hands warm and our feet moving and we are the only ones who can find it in ourselves.

Those seeds we planted last month? Make sure you tuck a little love and attention in there with the water as you care for them. Think of the ways you can pour that same care and attention into yourself as you open your heart to magic and wonder this May.

Thank you all for bringing magic into our lives and bringing wonder with you wherever you go.

May Reflection Prompts

How do you keep yourself open to magic and wonder even when all is overwhelming?

What are a few tangible things that you can keep with you when you need a bit of wonder in a tough moment? Would it be a soft piece of satin? A smooth rock with a beautiful pattern? Or a pressed flower bookmark? What could you pull out of your pocket to remind you that we are a part of something beautiful?
